NoF 2023 Best Paper Award
Welcome from the Chairs of NoF 2023
On behalf of the Network of the Future (NoF) Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to warmly introduce you to the 14th International Conference on Network of the Future (NoF 2023), that is taking place in Izmir, Turkey, on October 4-6, 2023. We are delighted to welcome you in Izmir, a calm, sunny, and tourist-friendly destination.
Since its creation in 2010, NoF has been a premier annual conference that covers advances in the area of Future Internet design, with emphasis on enabling technologies, architectures and services.
In recent years, networks have been witnessing a significant transformation that is resulting in new ways to address the deployment of applications and services in a digital society, today emphasized by the early deployment of 5G networks and services. Major trends like softwarization leveraged by Software-Defined Networking (SDN), Network Function Virtualization (NFV) and Cloud and Edge Computing, as well as the introduction of new radio techniques, are shaping the evolution in the Telecom and ICT industries. Additionally, initial research on 6G networks and technologies has already been ongoing. Besides technological advances, networking further benefits from the growing introduction of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning techniques that are expected to alleviate complexity while providing smart and reliable network operations.
In addition to the five technical and one demo/poster session, this year’s program also includes three keynote speeches from Joan Triay (DOCOMO Euro-Labs, Germany) on “NFV and Telecom Cloudification: Current State and New Technology Trends”, Burak Gorkemli (Argela, Turkey) on “Disaggregating the Access Network – What is achieved, what lies ahead?”, and Massimo Tornatore (Politecnico di Milano, Italy) on “End-to-end Learning or Parameter Refinement? Complementary perspectives for the application of Machine Learning in Network Design”.
Apart from the keynotes, our panel moderated by Stuart Clayman (UCL, UK) will engage in interesting discussions between 4 distinguished experts about “How do we get from the current networks to the 5G vision?”. We are also offering a tutorial on the hot and attractive topic of “Federated Learning × Security in Network Management” by Yann Busnel (IMT Nord Europe, France) & Leo Lavaur (IMT Atlantique, France).
We would like to thank everyone who contributed to the organization of the conference: The organization committee, technical program committee, and the steering committee. Additionally, we are grateful to all the authors who submitted their high-quality research to NoF 2023!
Lastly, we hope you thoroughly enjoy the NoF 2023 conference and engage in many fruitful discussions during the event.
We are looking forward to a successful conference on the network of the future!
