16th International Conference on Network of the Future

NoF 2025

30 September - 03 October, 2025
Montreal, Canada

Welcome from the Chairs of NoF 2025

On behalf of the Network of the Future (NoF) Organizing Committee, it is our great pleasure to warmly introduce you to the 16th International Conference on Network of the Future (NoF 2025), that is taking place in Montreal, Canada, on September 30 – October 3, 2025.

We are delighted to welcome you in Montreal, the largest city in Canada’s Québec province. It is set on an island in the Saint Lawrence River and named after Mt. Royal, the triple-peaked hill at its heart. Its boroughs, many of which were once independent cities, include neighbourhoods ranging from cobblestoned, French colonial Vieux-Montréal – with the Gothic Revival Notre-Dame Basilica at its centre – to bohemian Plateau.

Since its creation in 2010, NoF has been a premier annual conference that covers advances in the area of Future Internet design, with emphasis on enabling technologies, architectures and services.

In recent years, networks have continued their profound transformation, evolving into highly adaptive infrastructures that blur the boundaries between communication, computation, and control. The convergence of cloud-native design principles, intent-based and autonomous networking, and AI-driven orchestration is enabling networks to become more resilient, sustainable, and user-centric. Emerging paradigms such as Digital Twins of networks, zero-touch automation, multi-path and multi-domain integration, as well as network-aware immersive applications, are redefining how connectivity supports both humans and machines. At the same time, the global momentum behind 6G research is accelerating, with visions of integrated terrestrial and non-terrestrial systems, extreme performance for immersive experiences, and new trust, privacy, and sustainability requirements that shape the future Internet.

NoF 2025 kicks off with 4 interesting tutorials on vehicular networks, adaptive cloud orchestration, quantum-resilient communication and FANET orchestration, accompanied by a workshop on vehicular communication and edge/fog computing.

The main program covers various aspects of Future Internet design in 10 technical sessions and 1 demo session and further comprises of 3 keynotes and 1 panel.

The first keynote will be delivered by Melike Erol-Kantarci, professor from University of Ottawa & Ericsson, Canada, on generative AI, LLMs and multimodal data in the next generation wireless networks, showing the journey towards AI that understands the inherent complexities of the network better than humans do. A second talk is presented by Dr. Venki Ramaswamy, Chief Technologist for NextG MITRE Labs in USA, who will chart the path to achieving true convergence and multi-functionality in 6G, unlocking its full potential to redefine connectivity for generations to come. A third keynote on Non-Terrestrial Networks: The Last Episode in the Global Technology Race, is featured by Halim Yanikomeroglu, Chancellor’s Professor at Carleton University, Canada, and the Founding Director of the Carleton Non-Terrestrial Networks Lab. He will discuss the exciting times ahead where non-terrestrial networks will emerge as one of the most promising aspects of 6G.

The panel will focus on the interplay between emerging technologies in a globally connected, AI-empowered 6G network of the future. It brings together world-renowned experts from both industry and academia: Halim Yanikomeroglu (Chancellor’s Professor | Systems and Computer Engineering Director | Carleton–NTN Lab Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada), Burak Kantarci (University of Ottawa, Canada) and Venki Ramaswamy (Chief Technologist for NextG MITRE Labs, USA).

We would like to thank all the technical and organising committee members, as well as all reviewers, authors, and presenters, who greatly contributed to the success of NoF 2025.

We hope that you will enjoy the conference thoroughly and engage in many fruitful discussions at the event, as well as during the excellent social program that allows you to enjoy the beautiful city and amazing culinary creations of Montreal. Looking forward to see you there!
